about
Ximenes is a seven-track album based around the human voice; an attempt to yield powerful results despite employing very minimalistic methods. Some finer electronic elements are employed throughout the songs to enrich and further deepen the soundscape, but their main focus is consciously kept on the human voice and its possibilities. The songs' chant-like aspects are emphasized through the album's inquisitional theme; although it might sound alien, its title refers to the religious reformer and grand inquisitor Ximenes de Cisneros.
